Tree landings in our sports are avoidable, but possible. With good judgement, a pilot can enjoy an entire flying career without one. This clinic is for those who’d like to be prepared “just in case,” whether to help a friend in need or to escape one’s own mistake unscathed.
We will go over a few different scenarios that end up in tree landings, how to avoid it and what to bring to be prepared for it. We will also discuss different types of tree landings and what to do when you hit the tree. This clinic will teach how to get yourself/others and a wing out of a tree if this ever happens to you.
We will have a small classroom demonstration before we go outside and put these into practice!
If you already have a rescue kit you may bring it and we will look over it. Morningside will check to make sure you have proper gear. The instructors Heath Woods and John Dunn will give gear suggestions throughout the clinic so you can put together you’re own and understand what each piece is used for.
