This is a great way to fill your first day with a very rewarding learning experience.
A combined foot launch, hillside hang gliding introductory lesson and 2000 foot tandem introductory flight – aero towed up over the Connecticut River valley. Your instructor will go over glider basics and procedures, then once you’re aloft together, let you try controlling the glider to experience the ease of flying a modern hang glider from altitude.
This, combined with your hillside lesson, is a very unique way to fully experience a day in the life of a pilot. At the end of the day, you’ll have a fundamental understanding of what it takes to launch, fly, and land a hang glider.
The foot-launch portion of the “Combo” lesson starts at 9:00 AM on Morningside’s grassy slopes the morning of your reservation date. The tandem portion of the flight is around 10-15 minutes and is usually scheduled after the foot-launching lesson, but can sometimes be before or during a lesson depending on weather or different circumstances. It is recommended but not required that the lesson and tandem be on the same day.
